Cement
| Cement is one of the most common materials. It is produced from mined rocks, that are crushed, baked in high temperatures and ground to powder. That process uses a lot of energy, and produces a lot of pollutants. The energy is mostly (80%) from burning coal, the rest is oil, natural gas and industrial waste. During the baking of the limestone used for the cement production, a large quantities of carbon dioxide are released. | ||||||||
