Arsenic pollution
| Arsenic is a strong poison, and a carcinogen. Unfortunately, it is released into the environment during many industrial processes. Its effects on human health include: gastrointestinal effects, anemia, peripheral neuropathy, skin lesions, hyperpigmentation, gangrene of the extremities, vascular lesions, liver or kidney damage, lung cancer and death. We found that it is considered by the US government agencies as close to five times as dangerous as lead. | ||||||||
